Newt Gingrich is on to something!
In the last 24 hours, both Francois Fillon and the big dawg himself have thrown little rocks at the regime they just replaced.
In the first instance, Fillion told a questioner that the difference between Sarkozy and Chirac (and Villepein) was that Sarko won his victories in elections, and not through back-room infighting and stink bombs (as dirty tricks are called here in French).
Just before that Sarkozy told journalists during a farm outing (so Chirac!) that he would govern the way he promised to in the campaign. "That'll be a change," he added.
Why all the hate? Hasn't the war been won? Only Newt can tell.
